Layla Panam is a 25-year-old influencer and YouTuber who is killing the fashion game with her winter picks this year. We’re loving her eclectic sense of style ranging from bougie basketballer’s baby mama to little miss young and alternative. She’s a natural creative even in her professional works as a designer and social media content creator for established brands.
There’s just something about her and her incredibly imaginative brain that injects class into everything she does. Having worked with Vivienne Westwood and now Gulio, a luxury clothing house in Cambridge, she’s got more than enough skills to slay the fashion industry. In addition to this, she even has a bachelor’s degree in fashion design. Today, however, we’re showing you some of our fave winter outfits of hers. She’s inspiring to say the least.
Layla Panam: Winter Style Inspo
When it comes to winter fashion, a lot of us tend to think we need a whole other wardrobe with completely different items to summer. However, you can pair those favourite pale blue jeans of yours with a big thick jumper and some edgy footwear and you’re good to go. A large turtleneck will keep you more than warm enough and you can always layer a t-shirt underneath.
Be innovative. Here, Layla is wearing Nike crew socks inside a pair of fancy snakeskin heels and it really is like opening a surprise. She’s paired them with loose fitting grey tracksuit bottoms for that Kim Kardashian effect and it really is a vibe. It’ll also keep your tootsies nice and warm too.
You can still wear your dungarees; just switch out the t-shirt for a hoodie. If you’re a fan of the 1995 film Clueless you’ll also be a fan of this checked print. It’s a major trend this season, most recently seen in Ariana Grande’s new music video, ‘breathin’. There is just something so timeless, vintage and high-fashion about it. Why wouldn’t you wear it?
Of course, we couldn’t do a winter fashion edit without mentioning something large and fluffy. When it comes to buying a coat for the colder seasons, fur is an obvious choice but why not go for a bright colour as Layla has here. Instead of worrying about bright colours clashing with patterns in your outfit, pair it with all-black and you’re good to go.
Finally the boyfriend jumpers. Many of us young women have grown up watching films of girls in American high schools and dreaming of being a cheerleader. But you can turn that fantasy into a reality because there are many selections of printed jumpers and sweatshirts around. All you have to look for is any with sports team names on and you’ll be sorted.
Of course, it doesn’t have to always be about the clothing. You can wear the most minimalistic of outfits but adding touches of delicate jewellery looks absolutely stunning too. Be experimental.
